Clay currently is primarily engaged in Executive & Performance coaching and consults in the areas of organizational effectiveness with a special interest in helping organization or individuals address specific performance challenges.

He is currently a Coach with the Achieving Excellence Program, a partnership between the Harvard, Kennedy School of Government, and the Neighborhood Works America, where he coaches CEO’s, Executive Directors and other senior executives in a Leadership Development Program designed to help leaders identify and solve performance challenges within their organizations. In addition his work includes Coaching a range of other executives in the higher education, not for profit and corporate business sectors.

Prior to founding True Insights Consulting LLC, Clay had progressive leadership responsibilities in a wide variety of work settings, including business, education, not-for-profit, and government sectors.

He served as VP of Human Resources for Bausch + Lomb, Inc., where he had global leadership responsibilities for talent management, learning, diversity and inclusion, employee relations, staffing, health and wellness and privacy.

Prior to joining B+L, Clay was a leader in the NY State Juvenile Justice System, Deputy County Executive for Operations for Monroe County, NY and Assistant Professor at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).

Currently, in addition to his coaching and organization effectiveness work, Clay is an adjunct professor at the St. John Fisher College, Executive Leadership Program where he teaches Human Capital Management to students earning Doctorates in Executive Leadership and Education. In addition, he consults at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Leadership Institute, as a Minett Professor Emeritus.

Clay’s leadership and involvement in the community is well known and recognized. He is a member of the Boards of the ESL Federal Credit Union (Chair Compensation Comm.), Eltrex Inc. (Lead Director), and the University of Rochester Eye Institute. He serves as chair of the Workforce Diversity Network; a national organization focused on diversity, engagement and inclusion issues. He is on the advisory boards of the RIT International Advisory Board. He is a past Chair of the boards of the Center for Governmental Research and the Career Development Agencies. Clay currently volunteers on the advisory board of the newly chartered Parent Leadership Training Institute.
